Ironhaus Design Styles

The Design Style Library is a resource to help you define a fireplace door or screen by a particular design genre. For example, if you are building a new home and are designing a craftsman era type of style throughout your home you might start by looking in our Craftsman Style Gallery, which shows many different fireplace door and screen applications all in Craftsman design. Some areas of design cross into each other , for example “rustic styles” and “mountain styles”, so we encourage you to explore. And as always, if you don’t find a particular look or style, give us a call and we will be glad to help you.

craftsman (2)
Inspired by the strong lines, exposed joinery, and simple shapes with spare ornamentation that defined the Arts & Crafts Style made popular during the early part of the Twentieth Century, the Craftsman Style brings a unique touch to Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Greene & Greene, Mission and Prairie Style decors. Craftsman Style also adds a touch of true American style to a traditional, or transitional home.
old-world-Ironhaus
Old World design is about comfort, and broken-in style. Matte, distressed and/or honed finishes are preferred over sheen and polish. A deep, rich color palette, but muted in keeping with the well-worn look are all trademarks of Old World design. Our Old World style plays on those elements to help you achieve that well-traveled country Chateau look you’re after in your style. This style also contemplates European, Rustic, Lodge, or French Country Style.
contemporary
Contemporary design style features a softening of lines in response to the stark edges and angles of modern style, with neutral elements, and bold colors. The emphasis with Contemporary style is about sophisticated lines, clean shape and natural form without heavy ornamentation. It’s about bringing in elements of the landscape in a way that complements your home. Our Contemporary Styles feature were created with this in mind, and will complement your Contemporary style.

Styles that complement Contemporary are available for gas and wood burning fireplaces. For gas fireplaces you have the option of cabinet, bi-fold, or single swing doors. For wood burning fireplaces there are Contemporary styles available in fullview and silhouette arch. Please note that with some styles there are limitations to door options, and/or a modified design might be available.

mountain
Capturing the sweeping vistas of sky and mountain, the clean air, the cold crisp evenings, blue water, and even bluer sky, at its essence Lodge Style is inspired by that high country living. In Montana, we are surrounded by these awe inspiring vistas every day, which is evident in the work we do and the design styles that exemplify this. Hand carved details of aspen leaves, mountain peaks, hammered finishes and twisted iron are hallmarks of this design. For more examples of how Ironhaus has mastered this style take a look at our Portfolio and the work we did with the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, WY.

Reminiscent of the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 19th century, this “new art” embraced the idea that art should encompass all the arts: architecture, interior design, graphic art, and especially the decorative arts. Inspired by natural forms and structures, there was a desire to harmonize art with the natural world. Our Enclave Style embodies the best of that movement, and the decorative arts. This style complements Transitional, Modern, Contemporary homes and décor. Or add an unexpected element to your Lodge style, or Industrial home.

Traditional European styling encompasses everything from the Old-World rough hewn to the opulent styling of the Rococco Movement. Our interpretation of European styling emphasizes what we do best at Ironhaus, which is hand forging metal to create architectural pieces that are timelessly elegant, built to endure, and that will be useful in the modern home, no matter how that home is designed or decorated. And that’s what classic European styling is all about.

When we think of New Orleans we think rich, flavorful, spicy food. We can hear the slow, soulful music of blues and jazz, and the influence of a storied French heritage, personified in the Cajun people who cherish their history and culture. Architecturally, New Orleans is home to this same French and multicultural heritage. Sweeping lines, bold proportions, arches, ornate accents and gracious forms are what we’ve brought to life in our Orleans Style. The Orleans Style will complement your French, Old World, and Contemporary design décor.
prairie-design-style-360x264
The Prairie School was a movement of design and architecture that occurred in the late 19th century through the early part of the 20th century. Most common to the Midwestern United States the style was illustrated with horizontal lines, flat roofs and broad overhanging eaves. The Prairie School’s most notable voice was the architect, Frank Lloyd Wright who proposed an open and organic architecture that celebrated the harmony between people and their living environments. The Prairie Style by Ironhaus reflects this clean, organic approach to design and styling and will complement your Wright inspired home, Prairie or Ranch home, or will add a simple, elegant and classic American styling to your Contemporary, or Modern urban dwelling.
provincial-design-style-360x263
Soldiers returning home after WWI carried home with them many memories, one the happier memories was of the landscape and architecture of the French countryside. These provincial influences found their way in the architecture and interior design of homes during that period, and have remained a constant influence since. Typical of this influence in interior design is the use of wrought iron, and deep, vivid colors like golden yellow, rich red, bright greens and creamy colors found in the natural landscape of that region of the world. Our Provincial Style would complement nicely a French Country, American Farmhouse, Prairie Style, or Ranch home.
rustica-design-style-cabinet-arched-360x264
Rough-hewn wood beams, weathered wood, reclaimed or original pieces that evoke the history of the American West typify the Rustic Style. Illustrated with a color palate or rich, earthy tones, and complex textures reminiscent of the nature of the rugged outdoors, the design trend is to combine this look with touches of the modern like wrought iron, and metallic accents that evoke the contemporary, with a nod to the old-world way of making things. Our Rustica Style will complement a Mountain/Lodge design, Old World, European, Prairie Style, or add an eclectic touch to the Modernist dwelling.
SantaFe_glass
Embodying the rich, cultural heritage of the region, the architecture uses and relies on the natural elements to be found in the region, such as adobe and brick, everything is built with an eye for the practical while producing a look that is elegant and rustic. Unique elements used in the interior design of the typical Santa Fe are recessed niches, relaxed curves, and rounded and arched corners as well as carved and distressed wood and metal. Our Santa Fe Style plays off all these elements of curve, with added embellishments that speak to the rich heritage of this place and its people.
