Custom Iron Done Right
What Makes Ironhaus Unique?
We get asked a lot by our customers and folks in the industry:
- How the custom process at Ironhaus works?
- What makes Ironhaus different from other custom metalwork shops?
- How it benefits customers?
These are all wonderful questions and the process of answering them is beneficial, as it helps us to constantly rethink how we can make the process better for our customers. We design and manufacture a broad range of products for a broad range of customers. We work with and sell directly to the homeowner. We work with and sell to builders, architects and designers. And we have a dealer network that carries our products. While our relationships are unique with each of these varied customers, one thing is consistent throughout — our custom process.
How Does it Work?
Getting Inspired
When creating a new living space or remodeling an old one, it’s often hard to envision what we want and how the space will look when we’re done. If you aren’t a professional (and even if you are) you really need sources of inspiration. I have an inspiration wall in my office where I rip out photos from magazines of rooms, colors, textures, styles that I like and that speak to me. I also have a Pinterest board and a Houzz page. When it comes time to redesign a room I already know what I like, and what I want my room to look like. At Ironhaus we hope to be a source for inspiration for our customers. We encourage our customers to visit us on Houzz, share their Ideabooks with us and tell us how we can help them to create the room or space of your dreams.
Is this your dream kitchen?
Create an Ideabook
Soon our customers will be able to create Ideabooks on our website with products and photos that will help them get the room and space they desire. Here is my Ideabook. For now customers can create Ideabooks on Houzz that they share with us.
Customization
Once you’ve selected the products you want and you’re ready to order, just call our sales specialist Cliff Eggleston. Tell him about your project, give him the specifics of your job, and he’ll take care of the rest. If you know what you want, but don’t see it on our website, we will work with you to design something to your unique vision and needs. Our GM and lead designer Tim Campbell is always happy to work with customers.
One of the many sketches Tim has done for a client wanting something truly one-of-a-kind:
Release to the Shop
We have a 14,000 square foot shop, and not one square foot of it is warehouse space. We don’t have walls of shelves lined with pre-fab products collecting dust and waiting to be sold. Everything we make is made from scratch based on each customer’s unique needs. Once Cliff gets the information we need to move forward with your custom-made fireplace, fireplace door, range hood, or wrought iron chandelier, we turn the project over to our highly skilled and trained artisans. Each of one our artisans is a specialist in one aspect of the trade; like Dave, our production manager and expert welder. Or Andrew who does all the finishes with a meticulous and keen eye for detail.
Inside our shop:
Shipping and Installation
We even have a shipping expert who packages each item with the utmost attention to protecting the work and making sure it arrives as promised and on-time. We provide you, your builder, architect, or designer with everything needed to install your new custom product. From detailed install guides to Mason’s Form to mounting hardware, we’ve got you covered. And should you need additional assistance, Cliff is ready to help.
What Makes Ironhaus Unique
Take old-world blacksmithing techniques, plug-n-play technology, and sustainable manufacturing process and put them all together. Many will tell you that you can’t combine these — that you can’t have custom with seamless integration. Or you can’t have sustainable production processes with plug-n-play technology. At Ironhaus we’re fond of saying that we find possibility where others see contradiction. That idea is at the heart of everything we design and manufacture. We employ the old-world techniques of the anvil and forge by our artisans, but we also use models of production that focus on creating consistent and unique products that will be easy for anyone to install and will work seamlessly with a customer’s current system and with other manufacturers products. The result is a better product, no waste in materials, and better use of our time.
The Benefits to You
What all this means to our customers is a better product. Our artisans focus on one aspect of the job, meaning you have a team of specialists working on your product and not a group of dabblers, or generalists.
Our manufacturing processes mean you get the product you want the first go-around. A lot of times when you work with an artisan you get the look you want, but it doesn’t work well with what you’ve got or doesn’t install the way it should. You end up paying the additional costs of the artisan’s time, and materials to fix the mistakes.
Because we put in the attention to detail to ensuring that it will work with your other product and be easy to install, we don’t have to be there for the installation. We’ve made custom fireplaces, fireplace doors, mantels and range hoods, and lighting for customers all over the country, all from our shop in Montana — and we’ve never had to be onsite for installation. And our customers benefit by not having to pay one more contractor to be on the job site. What do our customers think about this?
“Just wanted to let you know that we received our glass fireplace doors and we have installed them. Everything is great! They look awesome and the quality is unbelievable! Thank you for all your help and patience with all my 10,000 questions. I’ve attached a photo for you to see!”
—Ruth Stephenson“Cliff, thank you so much for your excellent customer service and willingness to answer our questions. We have nothing but praise to offer to you and your company. When Wayne opened the box, I was amazed – the doors are gorgeous. We’ll send pictures when it’s done (but it will probably be a bit until that happens). Thanks, Cliff.”
